Our Network
Consists of multiple DS3 and OC3 Fiber Optic Connections to the internet backbone via Cisco Routers, monitored on a 24/7 basis.

Our Servers
Are Pentium III 933Mhz or better, running Red Hat Linux version 6.2 and Apache Web Server.

Nightly Backups and Up Time
Are performed on each of our hosted websites. On Silver Plans and above, a backup files is always available for download to your computer, for safekeeping. NexxtWorld is not responsible for lost data in the event of a catastophic loss, but we will do everything in our power to get you up and running as quickly as we can. We hold a 99.5% Up time history with our network and servers.

Plan Features

Disk Space
Refers to space utilized to store html files, cgi scripts, images, database information, mail and assorted other files related to running a website. Nexxtworld does not allow it's space to be a download point for warez, music downloads, adult material, etc. Please see Terms of Service for more information before signing up. Additional space over your plan limit is available at an additional cost. Customers are expected to monitor their own space usage via the control panel.

Monthly Transfer
Refers to the amount of bandwidth used to serve html files, images, database information, mail and assorted other files related to running a website - both incoming (such as ftp) and outgoing. Please see Terms of Service for more information before signing up. Additional transfer beyond your plan limit is available at an additional cost and is billed automatically when plan limits are exceeded. Customers are expected to monitor their own transfer usage via the control panel.

Your Own Domain Name
This is invaluable to many companies and organizations. The message is legitimacy and investment in the internet. What better way to be found and to communicate who you are, than an address that uses your own comany name? www.you.com!
We can even register that name for you and let you park it free until your site is ready.

Web Site Statistics
You can have the best site on the web. But do you know who's looking, at what times and what pages are your visitors choosing? You do with us! We supply complete, real-time Webalizer statistics to inform you what's happening with your pages.

Your Own Control Panel
Your site has not only a public front door, but a private backdoor just for you. From this secure access point, you can maintain email, security, page control, ftp and more. Also included is a quick check for this month's disk space and bandwidth usage.

Dedicated IP
This is the feature that distinguishes your web site from those "virtual" sites. While others wait to begin building a site until the internet resolves new domain names or transfers, you're off and running... addressing your site by it's own unique numbered address that never changes.

Custom Error Pages
If somethings got to go wrong, why have those boring white Apache 404 errors to tell them they found the wrong page? You can build your own customized, branded error pages for 403, 404, 500 errors and so on.

Email Features

Pop Accounts
Are physical accounts that allow you to address directly via an email client such as Outlook Express or Eudora. See our support F.A.Q. for client configuration information. With Silver plans and higher, you are in control of creating these accounts for yourself or others. Outgoing spam is never allowed from NexxtWorld servers.

Email Forwarding
Allows you to define an email address from the control panel that will re-route mail to another email address you may already have or to a central pop account. This allows you to have "sales@yourcompany.com"; "service@yourcompany.com" and "john@yourcompany.com" all transparently dropping into a single account on your PC or in Web Mail.

Autoresponders
Are great! If your customer sends an email to "sales@yourcompany.com", you can have a message instantly sent to them via email, with a thank you message or further instructions even if you aren't there when their email arrives. You control the outgoing text attached to each address designated as an autoresponder.

Email Blocking
Tired of spam emails from those same annoying addresses? Block them... on every account in your domain! Simple as typing in the offending address in your control panel.

Threaded Mailing Lists
We use the MailMan CGI script to provide a robust means to serve and administer mailing lists. Users may sign up for your list and view the flow of information via their email client OR by visiting an associated page, organized by message threads. You control who may be a member and what level of security is in place on each list. Add mass communciations to your website for family, friends and customers, quickly and easily.

Web Based EMail
Not at home? No problem! You can check your pop email accounts via any web browser, wherever you go. We use the NeoMail program to give you on the go access, anytime.

Publishing Features

FTP Accounts
Allow you the access to upload your site, images, etc. and to download backups of your current data quickly and easily. Using FTP requires a program be downloaded and installed on your computer. We highly recommend WS_FTP as a low-cost, easy to use program. More information can be found for WS_FTP installation, configuration and use on our support pages. Most plans come with a varying number of accounts, allowing you to have different members of your team, each with their own ftp login and password.

Anonymous FTP
Wish to have people send you files without granting them access to your login and passwords? You can, with anonymous ftp. Files go to a special folder, where you can find them, while the public stays out of your critical directories.

FrontPage Extensions
Another way to publish your site is with the popular Microsoft Frontpage program. These require a special setup on the web server that not all hosts have... but we're ready.

Developer Features

CGI-BIN
For interactive sites, the solid standby is CGI. We offer full-blown Perl 5 for knowledgeable scripters and pre-written scripts for those who simply need access for form input from their clients, a page counter, a guestbook or one of the more common applications.

Server Side Includes (SSI)
Server Side Includes is a technology which allows you to allow the web server to return certain values to your page, before your page is served to the user's browser. SSI can let you attach the current date and time into a html page, display a file size or most usefully, to include segments of code from other pages to build a page with a uniform look, on the fly. When an html page has SSI tags embedded, be sure to name your files with an .shtml extension.

Telnet/SSH
Many higher level functions can only be performed at the Linux command line, such as script testing. We employ SSH secure access for those developers needing it.

Subdomains
Simple as can be. Go into the control panel and create a subdomain, called, let's say - "support". Suddenly, visitors might be allowed to visit a whole "mini" website you've created, with it's own CGI-Bin, addressed as "http://support.yourcompany.com", just like the big guys do.

Password Protected Subdirectories
Have areas that only you and people you designate should see? It's easy to setup through your control panel. Just choose the directory and create a user name and password that must be entered to access that subdirectory.

MySQL
Databases are the ultimate in data management and MySQL is today's leading Linux/Unix platform database.

PHP
Going hand in hand with any MySQL is PHP, a leading edge scripting language that is supported on our servers. PHP is the ultimate tool in moving data in and out of MySQL databases.

Crontab Access
Sometimes running a script just once doesn't cut it. If you have a script that must run once a day, once a week, etc... you need access to crontab. Crontab is a Unix/Linux utility that schedules jobs to run at set times and frequencies. Please, keep in mind that these sorts of scripts (CGI) are intended to run unattended, with no user entry required. Also, if a script is CPU intensive and is bogging down servers, we reserve the right to terminate the script, the crontab access and if necessary after multiple incidents, the account.

Shopping Cart
We supply for Platinum and Diamond accounts, the excellent Akopia shopping cart software and an SSL Directory for your online store, and other e-commerce applications. Merchant account not included.
